I call the angels "Pearl" and "Rust." Pearl is a boy painted white; his hair is bleached to ash. He will move if you drop money in the blue glass jar. Otherwise he is as immovable as Rust. Do you have a favorite?
"The Dark Opens," my collection of poems (2008) was chosen for the Autumn House Poetry Prize. Other books include: three collections of poetry; a novel, "In Paterson"; a memoir, "Devotion"; and "A Guide to Writers Homes in New England."
